Does anyone know where the mac address is on the Sony Blu-ray player with Google TV?
Serial number on bottom but not mac address. My network is mac filtered and I don’t want to diable the filter. When I Google it I keep getting the Apple Mac stuff.
I checked the back of the unit also and did not see the mac address there either.
MAC stands for media access control. MAC addresses are individual to each piece of equipment, not unlike e-mail addresses.
The difference is that almost all of the time, you can’t change them, which is why they are so helpful for network security.
Somewhere in the information that the player displays on the screen, it should show the MAC address.
If you can’t find it that way, then you will need to connect it to your network and view it from you router’s setup web page where it shows attached equipment.
